Be Street Smart Students in investing!!!

Q1: Why Singapore Pools is not listed in SGX?

Q2: Why Gurus need to conduct Trading/Investing courses?

What are your answers to Q1 and Q2?

Anyone?

  1. For question 2.. i think must look at who is conducting the course and for what purpose..

Gabriel Yap is conducting 1 day course for $588.
Think he's worth easily >$20-30mil sgd from his stake in midas and raffles and etc.

There are some others out there who conducts.. now millionaire.. but .. how they got rich.. i think most likely from conducting the courses.

  2. Those courses on sharing of investing know-how to shorten learning curve is very different from those courses on sharing of "Secrets" of making easy money and selling the ideas that anyone can easily learn the "Secrets" and be rich.

Don't worry! There are Guru forums and chat boxes to support seminar graduates after the course. You won't be alone. You can make money by joining and following discussions with other seminar graduates in Gurus' forums to learn more or correct your mistakes. Over time, you can make it!

    Sound familiar?

One must clearly distinguish the difference when choosing courses to improve and up-skill one's investing knowledge and don't be tempted by "Secrets" of making easy money from the market.

If there are such Secrets, it is like ToTo Quick System. Sibei Chun!. Don't believe me? Check the testimonials below ToTo's result in the newspapers on every Tuesday and Fridays. LOL!

  3. Agreed with you.

For me, I will just pay to listen to those whom I think made the money thru investing.

  4. i read about Gabriel Yap long ago many times. He has shown he has been really investment savvy. But why now? Why $588/day? Still money not enough or fame not enough? Or both? Or what??? Very puzzle lay?

  5. Q1. SGX cannot promote sin stocks like gambling and porn. Although alcohol is ok.
Q2. Gurus only trade during certain cycles so to earn money during their spare time, they conduct seminars.

    1. How about Genting Singapore Ltd in SGX?

I think casino is more sinful and evil than punting 4D, ToTo, Football,Horse Races, etc

Singapore Pools made great contributions to Sports and Charities in Singapore.

      What about Genting?

  6. CW,

    1) If I Singapore Pools, why would I share my "sure win rice bin" (profits) with others? It's not as if I running short of cash flow. LOL!

    2) Don't eat white don't eat.

We have similar ideas when we find "lesser mortals than us" making money moonlighting in tuition, MLM, insurance, property, shares, forex, etc? Monkey see; monkey do mah.

  7. My answer to Q1 and Q2:

    A1: Same answer as SMOL.

Singapore Pools has found an easy making money. Money is going non-stop into their pocket.

Why need more money from you?

Why would they share "sure win rice bin" (profits) with others?

Singapore Pools is not that stupid!

A2: Gurus are not stupid people. It is obvious (somehow not obvious to their disciples) why they need some money from you when they have an easy making system that can bring plenty of money for themselves like Singapore Pools.

    Still caught no ball???

    LOL!

    1. CW,

Some disciples are very de smart one! After they discovered how their guru made money, they started to monkey see and monkey do on with their own seminars too. That's what I call great student!

The real masters (really got substance ones) upon seeing 2nd division tom, dick, and harry can make money like that, buay tahan also joined in lately.

Again following the garmen example - if cannot stamp out illegal betting and bookies; hey! join them instead! Take some market share while it's still party time.

The party ended in 2009; don't recall a lot of seminars then... A contrarian indicator?

  8. One 'guru' call it quit and sell his business. True or April-fool?

Quote "After much consideration, I have finally decided to sell my company, cease writing books and give my last lecture this coming weekend. I would like to thank all my staff, friends and fans for all their years of support. It's time to retire and do something totally different with my life."

  9. Hi SMOL,
"Again following the garmen example - if cannot stamp out illegal betting and bookies; hey! join them instead! Take some market share while it's still party time."

Sorry, above i think is only a lame excuse anywhere, anytime which we use. Though we know we are short of reasoning.
i have heard long ago, Indonesian GOV or Authorities has tried to A La Carte Singapore Pools Menu, but has failed. The Muslim Religious Authorities have rallied their followers to oppose strongly. One of the common sense opposition reason is barely religious, that is A La Carte Singapore Pools Menu, will make the Poors even poorer. Not to mention other accompany problems like broken homes, loan sharks and even suicides.
This is only "hearsay' very long ago.

    Now the $64 ???
    What about Indonesia now?
Any Alacarte Singapore Pools which you can order?
    Any Indonesian like to comment?
i really like to know more about Indonesia.
    Thanks
    NB:
Hey now we(Sinkapore)"progress" to 2 CASINOS. Maybe more coming? Hope Indonesia remain the same and doesn't have to "shortcut" like Singapore.

  10. temperament,

I understand your viewpoint from a religious and moral angle.

    1) Catholic Philippines is having new casinos like us.

    2) Taiwan has plans too.

    3) More countries in Asia will monkey see monkey do. Everyone wants a piece of the action. GDP and jobs not easy to create in this environment...

    4) Indonesians do visit our IRs in Singapore ;)

    5) Singaporeans lagi travel to gamble at Genting, Macau, cruise ships, etc. (Eh? How come Malaysia have casino?)

    I believe in personal responsibility.

If I don't gamble, casino next door won't matter.

If I don't drink, a bar across the street won't bother me.

I definitely won't blame women for dressing suggestively!

The Protestant led Prohibition in US from 1920 to 1933 created some quite unintended side effects...

You can't legislate against human nature.

  11. SMOL,
Of course! If everyone knows how or what to do, then nothing matters. But the ordinary Poors among the masses need to be "protected". No? Remember how Papies say they suppose to "protect" our Poors by imposing $100 for 24 hours gambling in Singapore casinos. One more minutes, you pay another 100$. Papies must always be the 1st in the world to make Singaporeans look like "GONG,GONG"-laughing stocks to the outside world. Ha! Ha! There you see i am laughing already. Just imagine a FT road sweeper can go in look see free anytime but us, Sinkaporeans. Don't you think it's kind of funny?

    1. LOL! You pissed you have to pay $100?

In a way, options, futures, CFDs, penny stocks are kind of like "gambling" for some of us. Willing buyer/willing seller.

I am a believer in small government; people should and can take care of themselves.

      I'm a libertarian; not a statist.

  12. Yes LOL!
i am pissed a FT road sweeper has better privilege than me lo in Singapore's casinos - Just because the Papies want to take a "High Moral Ground" which is actually on false pretext of looking after the Poors in Singapore. Who are Papies trying to bluff? Singaporeans of course!
